Weather disruptions!

As the weather declined our worst problem is where we have the dog toilet!  We are at the moment dashing down to the bottom of the garden and are very lucky Beryl is not too keen on the snow so busies quickly and in. This morning I stood on the doorstep and she went all on her own!
As the snow showers pass by we have had some lovely sun and you can see which Beryl prefers.
Yesterday Beryl went to her first class and did really well. She enjoyed seeing some other dogs and getting to play.

A week already

Beryl has now been with us for just over a week and what a difference a week makes!

First the basics. Beryl not only asks out to the toilet(most of the time anyway) she knows to run to her toilet area before letting go. She has also managed to busy on command today when out for lunch.

Nights have gone from me staying with her to get to sleep and a few middle of the night visits to last night she went to bed at 10.30 and I went down at 5.30. I only went down so she could see she didn't need to cry to get out of the crate,

Beryl has put on a kg so her favourite position in my arms with two paws over one arm is in jeopardy!

She knows 'sit' and we are working on 'down'.

She is a very pretty puppy and wherever we go she gets the aww!  Nature wise so far she is a sleepy wee girl who hardly ever bites even in play and loves her cuddles. Despite being such a softie being out and about doesn't seem to worry her either.

Below is Beryl avoiding the vacuum cleaner in the toy pile.

The first few days

Beryl arrived on Wednesday morning in the middle of a sleet shower and a howling gale!  The poor wee girl had no idea when we took her to the toilet area of what to do and we couldn't really hang around long enough so quite a few accidents.
She was quite inquisitive and before an hour she had found the shoe rack!  Mostly she just wanted cuddles which i was only too happy to give her.
The first night went well and she slept in her crate from 11pm until 5.30am and we had a dry bed!
Since then the toilet training has progressed at lightening speed with her knowing to perform when we take her out and even on a couple of occasions asking out.
The same cannot be said for bedtime. She will sleep in her crate but doesn't like being left so we have reached a point that she is put in and I lie down beside the crate until she is asleep. She doesn't get taken out so we are getting there, I hope!!!
She has a lovely sweet nature and contents herself playing with all her toys until she feels tired when she wants cuddles. Yes I know that doesn't help at bedtimes but who could not want to cuddle such a beautiful girl.
She now is wearing her collar with tag and has stopped scratching it.
She has been on her first outing and as expected a lot of aww's followed her but she loved all the attention.
And it is still only day 4!

Beryl Day minus 4

Started getting ready for the arrival of Beryl on Wednesday. Crate up with soft fleece and toys. Bowls looked out-the small ones and found the little collar. Now I wait.
