Just had Beryl boarded while we went on a holiday that was booked before we knew when Beryl was coming. I have never left one of my puppies for long so I felt awful leaving her for 2 weeks.
I have do doubt that she was fine but it took 3 days to calm down on return! Her not me!
Beryl is now allowed on grass and to free run so it has been a fun week. Her recall is pretty good and so far she has even recalled from another dog. One smell did cause a bit of a delay though!
Of course with puppy walking there is always problem. This started just before we left but the boarder didn't have a problem. To be honest I had forgotten as it had only happened a couple of times but Beryl hadn't! When we leave the house she reaches the road and stops. When I try to go any direction from there she just plonks her bum on the ground and won't budge. So far having a treat just in front doesn't work, a squeaky toy-no good, a dangly toy-well her head watches. I could make some money for GD selling tickets for the show! I have tried walking her on two legs for a couple of paces to break the stop and it gives a slight success for a few paces. The best so far is throwing a treat. Don't really like doing that though. Once we go about 100m she gets going although it can happen later on the walk. Luckily as soon as she knows its home direction she is off!! Not aware of anything to have caused this change.
Pictures were taken this week showing her with her enrichment toy (big name for homemade), getting a treat in the garden so I can do some gardening and with her favourite bit of hose. It was useless as a hose but all the dogs love it especially the bigger bit in the garden.
